Oculus made a few announcements at their developer conference, Oculus Connect including their first standalone headset, Oculus Go, updates to their Santa Cruz prototype and more.
A jury has awarded a combined total of $500 million in damages to ZeniMax Media.
While the jury for the case said that Oculus did not misappropriate trade secrets from ZeniMax, they did say that Oculus co-founder, Palmer Luckey was in violation of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that he signed with the company back in 2012.
Just days after Hugo Barra announced that he was leaving Xiaomi after almost four years, we now know where Barra is headed next.
In a Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Hugo Barra would be joining Facebook to help lead their virtual reality efforts, including the Oculus team.
The infamous Oculus Rift is now available for pre-order directly from Oculus’ site for the not-so low price of $599 USD.
Even though the high price tag wasn’t revealed earlier, Oculus founder, Palmer Luckey did say a few weeks ago that the Oculus Rift would come at a premium but he did also say that VR will eventually become something that is affordable for everyone.
Here’s to hoping he’s right.
