As 2016 comes to a close, it’s that time of year for the annual “best of …” or “favourite things of 2016.”
This post will be focusing on the apps that I used the most this year, so much that I consider them my favourite apps of 2016. Some of these apps might not have come out in 2015 but some have been significantly since last year’s post: Favourite Apps of 2015.
Some of these apps are just available on only one platform (just Android or just iOS) but some of them are multiplatform in which they are on both Android and iOS and have a web app as well.
The links to download these apps will be in the form of “Get on Google Play” or “Get it on the App Store” picture after each app description.
Moto has introduced a new member to its Moto Z Family with the Moto Z Play.
The new device has a thin, lightweight design that is made out of solid aluminum and there’s a glass on the back of the device and a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display on the front.
Samsung has taken the wraps of their latest entry in their Note line with the Galaxy Note7. Samsung also announced an updated Gear VR headset and a release date and price for their Gear 360 Camera which was announced at MWC 2016.
Update – October 11th 2016: Samsung has officially killed off the Note7 due to faulty and dangerous battery concerns. See this article for more: The Samsung Galaxy Note7 is officially dead. Samsung and other media outlets (including TheCanadianTechie)are advising not to buy a Note7 because of this.
Google has finally revealed the nickname for the upcoming version of its mobile operating system. Android N will now be Android Nougat.
Ubisoft made quite a few announcements at their annual E3 press conference and they had some cool games to show off.

Microsoft made a lot of announcements at their E3 2016 press conference. It was filled with new games, live demos and much more.
This year, Bethesda held their second E3 showcase and they had some pretty exciting announcements including some new gameplay as wells as the return of some old favourites.
