Lexus has officially launched their all-electric RZ 450e.
The RZ 450e is built on a dedicated EV platform called the e-TNGA steel platform, which is the first for the Lexus brand.

The vehicle has a 71.4 kWh battery that can produce up to 354 KM of range. The RZ has a system output of 313 hp and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

For charging, the RZ can go from 0 to 80% in 30 mins on a DC fast charger. On a standard 120v outlet, the RZ takes about 9.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
As the RZ 450e is an SUV, the vehicle comes with DIRECT4, which is an all-wheel drive system. The system uses two high-output and high-torque eAxle units (150kW for the front and 80kW for the rear).
The RZ 450e can be optioned with a Steer by Wire system which according to Lexus, “enables the electronic exchange of steering and road surface information between the advanced steering control and tires via electrical signals, not mechanical linkage”.

The steer by Wire system in the RZ also brings a steering yoke instead of the traditional steering wheel.
For infotainment, the RZ comes standard with a 14-inch touchscreen with the new Lexus Infotainment system that has support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In Canada, the Lexus RZ 450e comes in three trim lines:
- RZ 450e Signature – $64,950 CAD
- RZ 450e Luxury – $73,550 CAD
- RZ 450e Executive – $80,950 CAD
The above pricing for the Lexus RX is before any taxes, fees and provincial and federal EV tax credits.
As of right now, the Lexus RZ 450e is now on sale at Lexus dealers in British Columbia and Quebec.
Lexus plans to launch the RZ to the rest of Canada at a later date.
