OnePlus to launch their first foldable smartphone later this year

At MWC 2023, OnePlus announced that they’ll be launching their first folding phone this year.

Details about OnePlus’ folding phone haven’t been announced other than this quote form OnePlus.

“Our first foldable phone will have the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience. It must be a flagship phone that doesn’t settle because of its folding form, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other aspects. We want to launch a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market.” said Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus in a statement.

There have been rumours about OnePlus making a folding phone for a while but now we have official confirmation.

Back in January, XDA found two trademarks for names, the OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip.

The OnePlus folding phone is just one of many products that the company is planning on launching in the next few year.

In April, the company is launching their first tablet and have already previously launched multiple earbuds and even a smartwatch.

OnePlus hasn’t said what kind of folding phone they’ll be launching. It possible that OnePlus’ folding phone is a rebranded Oppo Find N2 or Find N2 Flip.

However, at their OnePlus 11 event, they did tease what looked like a folding phone and that it would launch in Q3 2023.

More details about the upcoming OnePlus foldable will be announced in the coming months.
