Google Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch officially unveiled

Following a tease at I/O 2022, Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Pixel 7 Pro

The Pixel 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate and resolution of 3120 x 1440.

Powering the phone is the Google Tensor G2 chip with 12GB of RAM.

There’s also a 5,000 mAh battery that supports wireless charging (up to 23W) and fast wired charging (up to 30W).

For cameras, the Pixel 7 Pro offers has three lenses, a standard 50MP, 12MP ultrawide and 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. There’s also a 11MP selfie camera.

Other specs include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and IP68 water and dust resistance.

The phone is running Android 13 out of the box and it’ll get five years of security updates and at least three major Android updates.

Colour options for the Pixel 7 Pro include Obsidian, Snow, and Hazel.

Storage options include 128GB and 256GB.

The Pixel 7 Pro launches on October 13th starting at $1,179 CAD for the 128GB model and $1,309 CAD for the 256GB model.

The small phone in the Pixel 7 lineup features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Like the Pro, the Pixel 7 is running the Google Tensor G2 chip but with 8GB of RAM inside.

For battery, there’s a 4,355 mAh cell that supports wireless charging (up to 21W) and fast wired charging (up to 30W).

On the camera side, the Pixel 7 offers has two lenses, a standard 50MP, 12MP ultrawide. There’s also a 11MP selfie camera.

Other specs include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and IP68 water and dust resistance.

Pixel Watch

The elusive Pixel Watch is now real. The Pixel Watch feature a rounded design with a 1.4-inch display.

Powering the watch is the Samsung Exynos 9110 chip, which was previously used in the Galaxy Watch3, so the chip is a bit older. There’s also 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.

For battery, there’s a 300 mAh cell that should last at least one day. There is fast charging to get your 50% in 30 mins and 100% in 80 mins.

In the box, you’ll get a USB-C magnetic charging cable similar to the latest Apple Watches.

In terms of sizing, the Pixel Watch only comes in a 41mm size and works with 20mm bands that use a special connector.

The watch will be running the latest version of Wear OS, version 3.5. You’ll also get features like the Google Assistant, Google Maps and Fast Pair.

The back of the Pixel Watch has the health sensors like a SpO2 (blood oxygen) and ECG.

Colour options for the Pixel Watch include Matte Black with Obsidian band, Polish Silver with Charcoal band, Polish Silver with Chalk band and Champagne Gold with Hazel band.

The Pixel Watch is launching on October 13th for $449 CAD ($349 USD) for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi model. A 4G LTE model costs $529 CAD ($399 USD).

In Canada, the LTE model of the Pixel Watch will only currently work on Bell and Telus.

Google also offered a better glimpse at their upcoming Pixel Tablet.

The upcoming Google tablet will be running the Tensor G2 chip. The Tensor chip will help powered things like an always-listening Google Assistant and other machine learning functions.

The Pixel Tablet will also have a dock that turns the device into a Nest Hub Max. This will be similar to devices like previous ones from Lenovo.

The tablet’s frame will be made from recycled aluminum, which Google says offers a “soft matte finish”.

The Pixel Tablet will be running Android (the exact version hasn’t been announced) but it will have Material You design like the Pixel phones.

Google says the Pixel Tablet will be launch in 2023 but no other details such as price, screen size, RAM etc were revealed.
