Apple made a few announcements at their “Far out” event, including the iPhone 14 series, Apple Series 8 and the new AirPod Pro model.
iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max

Starting off with the the Pro models, the iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display while the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen.

As rumours suggested, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have a small cutout for the Face ID housing that Apple calls Dynamic Island.
Like the iPhone 13 Pro models, these new ones retain the ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The iPhone 14 series brings new emergency SOS via satellite. You’ll be able to contact emergency services when you don’t have cellular.
The Emergency SOS via Satellite is set to launch in Canada and the US in November. It’ll be free for two years and be a paid feature thereafter.

Powering the new models is the A16 Bionic chip.
For the cameras, the new iPhones have three on the back with a 48MP Wide, 12MP Ultra Wide and 12MP Telephoto (up to 3X).
Colours for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max include, Space Black, Silver, Gold, Deep Purple.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are available for pre-order on September 9th with it shipping on September 16th.
iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Plus

After the Pro models, there’s the rest of the lineup with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Sadly, the Mini model has been discontinued and been replaced by the iPhone 14 Plus.

The iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen. While the new iPhone 14 Plus gets a 6.7-inch display.

It’s worth noting that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus don’t have 120Hz ProMotion display like the Pro models.

They’ll also be using last year’s A15 Bionic chip instead of the new A16 Bionic featured on the Pro models.

The iPhones have two main camera lenses with a 12MP Ultra Wide and a 12MP Wide lens.
Colours for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus include, Midnight, Purple, Starlight, Product (Red) and Blue.

Apple Watch Series 8

This year, there are not just one new Apple Watch, there’s three new models.
The first is the Apple Watch Series 8, which has the same 1.9-inch display as the Series 7
The Apple Watch Series 8 is IP6X which makes it more durable.

Powering the Series 8 is the S8 chip that brings some improvements over the S7 chip like better overall performance.
Pricing for the Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $529 CAD.
The Apple Watch Series 8 is up for pre-order today and ships on September 16th.
Apple Watch Ultra

In addition to the Series 8, Apple has introduced the Apple Watch Ultra.
The Apple Watch Ultra has a 2-inch OLED display, and offers Sapphire Crystal glass for protection and 2000 nits of brightness.
Battery life is up to 60 hrs in low power mode.

The Watch Ultra is aimed at more heavy-duty athletes like mountain bikers, hikers. It has MIL-STD 810 and WR100 certification.
Powering the Watch Ultra is the S8 chip like the Watch Series 8.
The Watch Ultra starts at $1,099 CAD. It’s available for pre-order today and ships on September 23rd.
Apple Watch SE (2022)

After the Watch Pro, there’s also a new Apple Watch SE, that was firs introduced in 2020.
The new Watch SE has the same 1.78-inch display size as the original but inside will be the S8 chip.
The Watch SE (2022) starts at $329 CAD.
The Apple Watch SE (2022) is up for pre-order today and ships on September 16th.
AirPods Pro (2nd Generation)

Powering the new AirPods Pro is the H2 chip.
Like the previous model, there’s Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) which has been improved for even better noise cancellation.

There’s also a low distortion audio driver and touch controls on the stem.
Battery life is up to 6 hours of listening time. The charging case can be charged via an Apple Watch charger, MagSafe or Qi wireless chargers.
The case also has a speaker at the bottom which makes a noise when using the Find My app to locate your AirPods Pro.
The new AirPods Pro is $329 CAD.
The new AirPods Pro are up to pre-order on September 9th and ships on September 23rd.
