At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios unveiled what’s coming next for the MCU including the end of Phase 4 and what’s to come in Phase 5 and 6.
Update – October 11th, 2022: Disney and Marvel have updated their release schedule for a few MCU films including Blade, Avengers: Secret Wars.
Blade has parted ways with its director and is now shifting to a September 2024 release date.
Fantastic Four is being moved from November 2024 to February 2025.
Deadpool 3 was recently announced with Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine. The sequel is set for a November 8th, 2024 release (original was announced for September 6, 2024).
And finally, we won’t be getting two Avengers films in 2025, as Avengers: Secret Wars will release on May 1, 2026.

Phases 4, 5 and 6 of the MCU has been officially been called the Multiverse Saga by Marvel.
Phase 4
MCU’s Phase 4 began last year with Black Widow and set is coming to a close. Next up in this phase is She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law
According to Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is about Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany)—an attorney specializing in superhuman-oriented legal cases—must navigate the complicated life of a single, 30-something who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.
The show is a nine-episode comedy series that will also see returning MCU characters such as Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law premieres on August 17th, 2022 on Disney+.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
To end off Phase 4, there’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming later this year. It was previously announced that the film would not be recasting T’Challa in order to honour the late Chadwick Boseman who passed away in 2020.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is about: Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.
The film will see Ryan Coogler back as director and will also introduce ominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli to the cast.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theatres on November 11th, 2022.
Phase 5
To kick-off the next phase, there’s the next Ant-Man film.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is about: Super Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
The film will also feature Jonathan Majors as Kang and Kathryn Newton as an older version of Scott’s Daughter Cassie Lang.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania hits theatres on February 17th, 2023.
Secret Invasion
Following Ant-Man 3, there’s Secret Invasion.
According to Marvel, the show will be a crossover event series showcases a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
The series stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in Captain Marvel. Rounding out the cast is Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman and Colbie Smulders will be reprising her role as Maria Hill.
Secret Invasion premieres on Disney+ in Spring 2023.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Following Secret Invasion is the next and final Guardians of the Galaxy film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is about our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
The film sees the return of writer and director, James Gunn along with cast members Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theatres on May 5th, 2023.
Echo
Echo was previously announced as a spin-off series for the character that was first seen in Hawkeye.
Echo is currently in production and is slated for a Summer 2023 release on Disney+.
Loki Season 2
Season 2 of Loki is currently in production and has been given a Summer 2023 release window on Disney+.
Ironheart
Ironheart which sees Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams is currently in production and coming in Fall 2023 to Disney+.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is the upcoming spin-off series about the character from WandaVision. The series was originally announced with the title Agatha: House of Harkness.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is coming to Disney+ in Winter 2023.
The Marvels
The Marvels is the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel and a continuation of the Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel. The film is being directed by Nia DaCosta.
Brie Larson will be reprising her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani will appear as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris returns as the adult version of Monica Rambeau from WandaVision.
The Marvels hits theatres on July 28th, 2023.
Blade
The upcoming MCU film introduction of Blade, played Mahershala Ali now has a release date of September 6, 2024 (was November 3rd, 2023).
Blade’s director, Bassam Tariq recently parted ways and now Marvel is looking for a new director for the film.
The film is set to begin filming in 2023.
Captain America: New World Order
Following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson is now Captain America and this new film will be a continuation of the TV series.
The film will also see the return of Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns aka The Leader, which was teased in The Incredible Hulk (2008).
The film will be directed by Julius Onah with Malcom Spellman and Dalan Musson writing the script.
Captain America: New World Order hits theatres on May 3rd, 2024.
Daredevil: Born Again
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are back again as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Kingpin respectively in this new Daredevil series.
The show will be 18-episodes in length and coming to Disney+ in Spring 2024.
Thunderbolts
A film about the Thunderbolts has officially been announced and given a release date. The film will also be the final title for Phase 5 of the MCU.
Thunderbolts hits theatres on July 26th, 2024.
Phase 6
To start the next phase, we’ll have, Deadpool 3, the Fantastic Four and two Avengers films.
Untitled Deadpool Movie (aka Deadpool 3)
The next Deadpool film has officially been announced and will see the return of Hugh Jackman’s Wovlerine.
The film is being directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy) and written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Wendy Molyneux & Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin.
Deadpool 3 releases on November 8th, 2024 (originally September 6, 2024).
Fantastic Four
The film was announced back in 2020 with Jon Watts directing but since then, Matt Shakman (WandaVision) has been announced as the director of the film.
Production on the film starts in 2023 and the film will release in theatres on February 14th, 2025 (pushed from November 8th, 2024).
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
After the Fantastic Four, there will be the first of two Avengers film in Phase 6 with the first being Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
The film is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and written by Jeff Loveness (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania).
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty hits theatres on May 2nd, 2025.
Avengers: Secret Wars
Avengers: Secret Wars will hit theatres on May 1, 2026 (originally November 7th, 2025).
No director has been announced by the film will be written by Michael Waldron (Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
Kevin Feige has confirmed that the Russo Brothers who directed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame will not be directing these two upcoming Avengers films.
