Following a teaser image a few months ago, Polestar has given us our first actual look at the upcoming Polestar 3.
The Polestar 3 will be the company’s first SUV, which one of the most popular segment these days.
“Polestar 3 is the SUV for the electric age. Our design identity evolves with this high-end large luxury EV, with a strong, individual brand character,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “With this car, we bring the ‘sport’ back to the SUV, staying true to our performance roots.”
The vehicle will go up against the likes of the Tesla Model Y and Ioniq 5.
Thomas Ingenlath adds: “This is a major milestone for our company, one that boosts our growth trajectory and takes us into our next phase.”

The SUV will be Polestar’s first vehicle to be built and sold in the US at their new Charleston, South Carolina plant.
Range for the Polestar 2 dual-motor and large battery will be around 600 KM (according to the European WLTP standard).
The Polestar 3 will offer “autonomous highway piloting” which uses Luminar’s LiDAR sensors and Nvidia computer power.
In addition to the Polestar 3, the company say they are planning to launch a new car every year for the next three years (i.e until 2025).
They also plan to be in 30 global markets by the end of 2023.
The world premiere for the Polestar 3 will happen in October 2022, where customers can order their own.
Production for the Polestar 3 will begin in early 2023 in the US and China.
