LG’s 2022 TVs are now available in Canada

LG Canada has announced that their 2022 TV lineup is now available in Canada.

“LG was first to market with OLED technology, introducing OLED televisions in 2013,” commented Gilles Pereira, Go to Market Manager, Home Entertainment LG Electronics Canada. “For more than a decade, we have driven OLED technological advancements, including the introduction of OLED evo technology. This year, we are excited to offer more size options to Canadians, along with new audio products to enhance the viewing experience.”

Powering their lineup is the Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor that brings a few new features including Brightness Booster, improved Upscaling and a new Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro algorithm.

The processor can also enable AI Sound Pro that can upmix stereo sound to 7.1.2.

The G2 and C2 series use LG’s OLED evo technology that have a higher peak brightness and improved colours and deeper blacks.

For their OLED TVs, LG has the new OLED G2 series that has a 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes in 55”, 65”, 77”  and new for 2022, 83”, 97” size options.

The OLED C2 series that has a 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes in 48”, 55”, 65”, 77”, 83” and new for 2022 42″ screen size options.

The OLED A2 series has a 60Hz refresh rate and comes in 55”, 65” sizes.

In addition to their OLEDs, LG has introduced their QNED TVs which builds upon their NanoCell LCD technology.

The Quantum Dot NanoCell technology in the 2022 QNED TVs offer rich, accurate colours in the brightest and darkest areas of a scene.

The 2022 QNED TVs come in screen sizes from 50- to 86-inches.

For the UI, LG’s 2022 TVs are running WebOS 22 which brings user profiles and support for NFC Magic Tap that lets you tap your phone to the Magic Remote to share content or mirror your screen.
