Genesis Canada has unveiled pricing and availability in Canada for their highly-anticipated GV60.
The GV60 is Genesis’ first fully electric vehicle and shares the same Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
Later this summer, Genesis will be launching their electrified G80, their first fully-electric luxury sedan. And all new Genesis models from 2025 will be fully-electrified and their entire lineup will be electric by 2030.
“We are thrilled to begin our momentous journey towards full electrification with the launch of the GV60,” says Lawrence Hamilton, executive director of Genesis Motors Canada. “We are excited that our Canadian guests will be able to experience the innovative technologies, bold design, and extensive suite of Genesis Connected Services offered in this distinctive vehicle.”
For power, the standard GV60 has a 74kW electric motor in the front and a 160kW motor in the rear that produces 316 hp and 446 lb.-ft of torque.
The Performance model of the GV60 brings a 160 kW electric motor in the front and back to produce 429 hp and 483 lb.-ft of torque.
The GV60 has a couple of features such as Face Connect that will allow the vehicle to lock or unlock without a key by recognizing the driver’s face via a Near Infra-Red (NIR) camera.
The Face Connect feature can also be linked with individual driver profiles for more personalization.
In addition, the vehilc has a Fingerprint sensor that lets drivers start and drive the vehicle without the need to carry a key.
For the infotainment system, the GV60 has what they call the ccIC (connected car Integrated Cockpit), which combines dual 12.3 displays into one, similar to the Ioniq 5.
It also features wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. And like most EVs today, the GV60 will get Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates.
The GV60 comes in two variants, the standard Advanced Package includes Nappa leather seats, 20-inch wheels, Vision Roof with power shade, Fingerprint Authentication, Face Connect, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, navigation system, and vehicle-to-load charging capability.
Meanwhlie the GV60 Performance adds the more powerful front electric motor, Electronic Limited Slip Differential (E-LSD), Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview, and Active Noise Cancellation, the Ergo Motion massaging driver’s seat, and 21-inch wheels, a Bang & Olufsen Premium Audio with 17 Speakers, surround view and blind spot view monitors, and Alloy pedals.
The GV60 Advanced AWD starts at $71,000 CAD while the GV60 Performance AWD starts $79,000 CAD. The vehicle goes on sale this week and the first units will arrive by the end of this month.
Included in the price tag is freight, PDI, five years of complimentary scheduled maintenance and Genesis Connected Services, as well as Genesis-At-Home concierge services.
