While production is underway, Cadillac has unveiled details about their upcoming RWD version of the Lyriq EV.
“These are important steps for Cadillac, as we make good on our promise to deliver an EV with more than 480 kilometers of range and move to an electric portfolio by 2030,” said Rory Harvey, vice president, Global Cadillac. “Cadillac will define the future of luxury transportation through its range of forthcoming EVs, and it all begins with LYRIQ.”
The Lyriq will be the first EV for the Cadillac brand and just one of few EVs that GM has in the works for their brands.
The Lyriq features a 12-module, 100 kWh battery that can provide 502 KM on the RWD model and 480 KM on the AWD version.
When charging the Lyriq ona Level 2 AC charger, you should get 83 KM of range per hour of charge (at a 19.2 kW charging rate).
If you’re using a DC fast charger, you can get speeds of up to 190 kW, which is about 122 KM of range in 10 mins of charging.
Power output on the Lyriq is a “Cadillac-estimated” 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque in the RWD model.
The Lyriq AWD offers a second drive unit that brings the horsepower to 500 and up to 3,500-pound trailering capacity.
Inside, the Lyriq, you’ll find a 33-inch LED display for the infotainment system, which is just a few inches shorter than the Escalade’s 38-inch OLED display.
There’s also a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system that features headreat speakers and technologies such as Adaptive Volume and Surround Technology.
The Lyriq’s infotainment system is powered by Android Automotive, which is Google’s OS made for vehicles.
You’ll be able to access Google Maps, Google Play and the Google Assistant from the Lyriq’s infotainment system.
Reservations for the Lyriq RWD and Lyriq AWD are set to begin on May 19th.
Deliveries of the Lyriq RWD will begin in the fall while the Lyriq AWD will be in early 2023.
There will also be two new exterior colour options including Opulent Blue Metallic and Crystal White Tricoat.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq starts at $69,898 CAD for the RWD model. Canadian pricing for the AWD hasn’t been announced.
