Mercedes-Benz has unveiled their latest EQ vehicle with the new EQS SUV.
“The EQS SUV is the third vehicle on our new all-electric platform. It has everything our customers love about the EQS – and combines this with the strengths and versatility of an SUV that can seat up to seven people. With the EQS SUV, we are continuing to consistently implement the strategy of making our vehicles more sustainable and digital – with the goal of building the most desirable electric cars in the world,” said Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
The new EQS SUV is essentially a taller version of their previously launched EQS sedan (by about 20 cm). However, the SUV has same wheelbase length as the sedan at 3210 mm.
With the SUV shape and design, you’ll be getting a bigger trunk that can fit up to four golf bags or you can get a third-row seat as an option.
For power, the EQS SUV has a output of 400 kW that can provide up to 355 hp on the EQS 450 4MATIC or 536 hp on the EQS 580 4MATIC.
Like it’s sedan counterpart, the EQS SUV features the MBUX Hyperscreen that combines three screens to make 55-inches/141 CM of screen real estate.
Powering the MBUX Hyperscreen and interface is an 8-core CPU, 24GB of RAM and 46.4 GB per second RAM memory bandwidth.
There’s also Dolby Atmos speakers, MBUX AR Navigation and more.
Range for the EQS SUV is up to 600 KM and supports DC fast charging to get you up to 200 kW speeds and charge from 10% to 80% in 31 mins.
The EQS SUV is set to hit Canada later this year in Q4 2022. No Canadian pricing has been announced but expect it to be similar to the EQS sedan.
