Hyundai announces Canadian pricing for their Ioniq 5 EV

Hyundai Canada has officially announced Canadian pricing for their highly anticipated Ioniq 5 EV.

“The IONIQ 5 offers the hallmark traits found in the popular crossover segment: utility, space, cuttingedge design, advanced safety technology and available all-wheel drive. With IONIQ 5’s arrival, Canadians have all that in addition to the added benefit of a vehicle designed to be fully-electric, and from the ground-up,” says Don Romano, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. “We’ve seen an unparalleled level of excitement surrounding IONIQ 5 from customers and dealers, and we’re thrilled to bring to market an EV presenting tremendous overall value, and also a variety of battery and drivetrain options.”

The 2022 Ioniq 5 is a compact all-electric CUV that can go up to 480 KM on a single charge. That battery can go from 10 to 80% in 18 mins using ultra-fast 800V charging.

The interior of the vehicle uses recycled materials such as plastic bottles.

For the Canadian version, the Ioniq 5 comes with a 58 kWh battery and a bigger 77.4 kWh battery. The vehicle is comes standard with rear-wheel drive (RWD) with all-wheel drive (AWD) as an option.

Power output is around 225 to 320 horsepower and 258 and 446 lbs.-ft of torque.

To date, Hyundai Canada has received more than 2,000 pre-orders for the Ioniq 5 in Canada.

The Ioniq 5 will be available in a number of exterior colours including: Phantom Black (Pearl), Cyber Gray (Metallic), Atlas White (Solid), and Lucid Blue (Pearl).

Here’s the Canadian pricing and trimlines for the 2022 Ioniq 5:

  • Essential (RWD) Standard Range (354 KM) – $44,999 CAD
  • Preferred (RWD) Standard Range (354 KM) – $46,999 CAD
  • Preferred (AWD) Long Range (400 KM) – $51,999 CAD
  • Preferred (RWD) Long Range (480 KM) – $54,999 CAD
  • Preferred (AWD) Long Range with Ultimate – Package (400 KM) – $59,999 CAD

The first Ioniq 5 units will arrive in December. You can pre-order the Ioniq 5 with a $500 deposit from Hyundai’s website.
