Google has officially announced the launch event for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
This announcement just comes after Google showed off the new phones back in August alongside their new Tensor chip.
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be running Google’s Tensor chip, which is the company’s first SoC and a departure from using Qualcomm chipsets.
The Google Tensor processor should help with AI-heavy tasks as well as faster camera, speech recognition for the Assistant.
With the Pixel 6 series, the lineup is getting an upgrade in the camera department. The Pixel 6 Pro has three cameras on the back, a wide-angle, ultra-wide and 4X optical zoom.

While the Pixel 6 has a wide-angle, ultra-wide but no telephoto.

One interesting thing to note is that Google is calling this event, the Pixel Fall Launch instead of their usual Made By Google. This could that we see more Pixel devices announced at the event beyond the Pixel 6 series, like the rumoured Pixel foldable.
Google’s Pixel Fall Launch event is set for October 19th at 1pm ET (10am ET) and will be a pre-record livestream.
