Samsung Canada has announced TD cards including credit and debit cards, are now supported by their mobile payment system.
TD Canada Trust joins RBC, CIBC, American Express Canada, Simplii Financial, Tangerine who added Samsung Pay support in the past.
“Samsung Canada is committed to providing quick and seamless payment experiences for all Canadians, and welcoming TD to our mobile payment ecosystem is the latest collaboration in that mission,” said Raj Doshi, Head of Mobile Business, Samsung Canada. “Canadians have long relied on their mobile devices to make life easier, and over the last year, their reliance on smartphones has only increased, with contactless payment methods becoming not just the norm but the preference. With Samsung Pay, we are helping to honour that preference for TD customers.”
While it’s great that TD has added Samsung Pay support, they have still yet to add Google Pay support in Canada.

Samsung Pay uses NFC and works at any payment terminal you can tap to pay/contactless payments, which most retailers have these days.
