Volvo’s Polestar has announced the 2022 model year of their Polestar 2 with a couple of improvements.
“We are excited to introduce the expanded Polestar 2 range, which offers an ideal configuration for every lifestyle,” said Hugues Bissonnette, Head of Polestar in Canada. “With our new pricing that qualifies the Polestar 2 for numerous provincial incentives and the addition of the new mechanical heat pump to support Canadian winter driving, we have the product, pricing and convenience to place Polestar at the top of consumer shopping lists.”

The Polestar 2 now offers a single-motor powertrain option which can provide up to 426km of range (Polestar-estimated EPA range). The Long range Single motor starts at $49,900 CAD or $41,900 CAD in Quebec or $46,900 CAD in British Columbia after provincial incentives.

Meanwhile, the Long range Dual motor Polestar 2 brings 400 km of range and the same 408 hp output as the 2021 model. The Long range Dual motor version starts at $56,900 CAD $48,900 CAD in Quebec or $53,900 CAD in British Columbia after qualifying incentives.

Both these variants of the 2022 Polestar 2 can be optioned with the following packs:
- The Plus Pack ($5,500 CAD) debuts a mechanical heat pump, which is designed to extend the vehicle’s range by up to 10% under certain conditions. The heat pump is complemented by a full-length panoramic glass roof, a premium interior featuring a Harman Kardon audio system, WeaveTech vegan upholstery, and high-level interior illumination. For those living in cold weather locales, the package offers a “must have” combination of comfort and range preservation.
- The Pilot Pack ($4,500 CAD) offers enhanced safety and driver assistance features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Pilot Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLISTM), Cross Traffic Alert, along with a 360-degree surround view camera and all-round parking sensors, plus more advanced safety features.
- The Performance Pack ($6,000 CAD) features adjustable Öhlins DFV suspension dampers supporting the front and rear forged 20-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, Continental sport tires, and Polestar’s signature ‘Swedish gold’ aesthetic details. (Only available on Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor.)
There’s also options like a ventilated Nappa leather interior ($5,000 CAD), 20” wheels with unique spoke pattern ($1,200 CAD), a semi-electric tow bar ($1,400 CAD) and metallic paint ($1,400 CAD).
Just like the original Polestar 2, it still features Android Automotive for it’s infotainment system, giving you access to Google Assistant and Google Maps.
