TCL’s latest 5-Series and 6-Series TVs are powered by Google TV

TCL has announced 2021 lineup of Android-powered TVs with the new 5-Series and 6-Series with Google TV.

Google TV was first introduced last year with the new Chromecast. Think of it has a skin on top of Android TV, the Google TV interface is much more content-focused and aimed to find stuff to watch with ease.

“With the explosive growth of smart TV and streaming service adoption, TCL is excited to expand our awardwinning portfolio with Google TV models in the North American market. “Once again, TCL is America’s secondlargest TV brand and I believe that is due to the team’s steadfast dedication to our users and what they value in a premium yet simple entertainment experience. Pairing our highperformance hardware with the contentforward, consumer friendly Google TV was an easy decision for us as we both put the user’s needs first. From their robust library to having handsfree voice assistance and smart home control, Google’s intuitive entertainment platform is the perfect complement to our TCL sets.”

TCL has confirmed that these new Google TV models won’t be replacing their Roku TVs but instead compliment their lineup, while also offering some consumer choice.
