Microsoft announces the Surface Laptop 4

Microsoft has officially announced the Surface Laptop 4, now with 11th Gen Intel processors and a new blue colour option.

The design of the Surface Laptop 4 hasn’t changed that much over previous models. It retains the 3:2 PixelSense touchscreen display for both the 13.5 and 15-inch models.

There’s also the option to choose between Alcantara or metal finishes in a number of colours, including the new Ice Blue option.

For ports, there’s one USB-C, one USB-A, a headphone jack and a Surface Connect port.

Powering the Surface Laptop 4 is 11th Gen Intel processors (up to an i7-1185G7 processor on both models) with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB SSD.

The laptop can be equipped with Surface Edition versions of the AMD Ryzen 5 4680U for the 13.5-inch and Ryzen 7 4980U processors for the 15-inch.

Microsoft says battery life on the Surface Laptop 4 is up to 19 hours on the AMD models and up to 17 hours on the Intel versions, but it’ll always vary depending on usage.

Since we’re all working from home, the Surface Laptop 4 has a built-in HD front-facing camera alongside Dolby Atmos Omnisonic speakers.

Colour options for the Surface Laptop 4 include Ice Blue (Alcantara), Platnium (Alcantara), Matte Black (Metal) and Sandstone (Metal) for the 13.5-inch model.

The 15-inch Surface Laptop 4 comes in Matte Black (Metal) and Platinum (Metal) colours and finishes.
