Sonos is in the midst of prepping for their March 9th event and The Verge has gotten an exclusive look at the company’s next Bluetooth speaker.
The speaker will be aptly named the Sonos Roam, implying that’s it portable.

The device is much smaller than their Sonos Move, the new speaker is 6.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches and weighs about one pound.
The Roam is fully waterproof and shares a similar design to Logitech’s UE Boom 3 speaker.
Like the Move, the Roam will have Wi-Fi, to use with your existing Sonos system and Bluetooth. You can use the Roam as part of a multi-room audio system.

There are also built-in mics hands-free for voice controls for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa. The speaker supports AirPlay 2 and two speakers can be put into a stereo pair when on Wi-Fi.
Battery life is around 10 hours and uses USB-C. There will be an optional wireless charging dock that retails for $49 USD.
The Sonos Roam will retail for $169 USD (around $214 CAD) and comes in black and white colour options. It’s set to be unveiled at Sonos’ event next week and will ship in April.
