Disney shows the first teaser for Pixar’s Luca

Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Pixar’s upcoming original film, Luca.

According to Disney, here’s the film’s description:

Luca is a fun and heartwarming story about friendship, stepping out of your comfort zone and two teenage sea monsters who experience a life-changing summer.

In terms of the voice cast, Jacob Tremblay (Room, Good Boys) is voicing Luca Paguro, “a bright and inventive 13-year-old sea monster with endless curiosity—especially when it comes to the mysterious world above the sea.”

Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam) voices Alberto Scorfano, Luca’s sea monster friend and Emma Berman voices Giulia, “an outgoing and charming adventurer who befriends Luca and Alberto.”

Rounding out the voice cast is Maya Rudolph as Luca’s mother Daniela, Marco Barricelli as Massimo, Giulia’s father and Jim Gaffigan as Lorenzo, Luca’s father.

The film was directed by Enrico Casarosa (La Luna) and produced by Andrew Warren (Lava, Cars 3).

Luca is currently set for a June 18th, 2021 on Disney+.

Update – March 24th, 2021: Disney has announced some release date changes to their upcoming films.

Luca will now be hitting Disney+ at no additional cost on June 18th (the film’s original release date for this year). In international markets where Disney+ isn’t available, the film will still hit theatres.
