The Apple TV app is now available on Chromecast with Google TV

Google has announced that the Apple TV app is now available for their latest Android TV-powered Chromecast.

The news was first announced back in December but the Apple TV app for Google TV is finally here.

With the Apple TV app, you can watch a number of Apple TV+ Originals such as Ted Lasso, Central Park (both of which I highly recommend), For All Mankind and many more. There’s also the option to Apple TV channels such as Starz, CBS All-Access, Nick+ etc.

In addition to the original content, you can access your library of movies and TV shows purchased from Apple (i.e iTunes) in up to 4K resolution.

The Apple TV app does work with the For You section of Google TV, so you’ll get personalized recommendations and search results with Apple Originals.

In addition to the Chromecast with Google TV, the app will be launching on other Google TV-powered devices from Sony and TCL in the coming months.

Apple TV+ costs $5.99 CAD per month with a 7-day free trial. If you buy a new Apple device (iPhone, Mac, iPad etc), you’ll get one year free of the service.
