TCL announces their 20 Series of phones

At CES 2021, TCL has taken the wraps off their latest TCL-branded smartphones with the 20 Series.

“After the successful launch of the TCL Mobile brand, 2021 will be a very important year for TCL’s business as we build on the momentum established last year and continue to grow as one of the world’s largest end-to-end global consumer electronics brands,” said Aaron Zhang, CEO of TCL Communication. “This year, our TCL-branded mobile devices are highlighting an increasing focus on strengthening our TCL ecosystem by making 5G connectivity more affordable and accessible to people around the world, without compromising the premium features and design associated with TCL.”

TCL 20 5G

The new TCL 20 5G has a 6.67-inch FHD+ Dotch display that has the company’s NXTVISION technology. The design of the TCL 20 5G is reminiscent of the 10 Series and a bit of recent Huawei phones.

You can watch HDR10 videos on the phone. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 690 5G processor with 6GB of RAM.

On the software side, it’s running Android 10 (upgradeable to Android 11) with TCL’s skin on top.

There’s a 4,500 mAh battery, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and up to 256GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot.

For cameras, there a 48MP main lens, 8MP wide-angle and 2MP macro lens.

The phone comes in two colours, Mist Gray and Placid Blue.

The TCL 20 5G is coming to Canada and the US in the next few months. But it’s available now in Italy for 299 EUR.

TCL 20 SE

Below the TCL 20 5G is the TCL 20 SE. The phone is running the Snapdragon 460 processor with 4GB of RAM.

The TCL 20 SE has a 6.82-inch V-notch display with a 1640 x 720 resolution.

For cameras, the 20 SE has a 48MP main lens, 8MP wide-angle, 2MP depth lens and a 2MP macro lens.

There’s up to 128GB of storage with a microSD card slot.

On the software side, it’s running Android 11 with TCL’s skin on top.

For colours, the phone is available in Nuit Black and Aurora Green.

The TCL 20 SE is launching in the next few months, for 149 EUR.

In addition to the 20 5G and 20 SE, TCL will be announcing three more phones in the 20 Series including another 5G phone.

TCL also teased that they will be launching a 5G tablet and a foldable device later this year, but no further details were announced.
