After launching in the US a few months back, Amazon is bringing their Watch Party feature to Prime Video in Canada.
Watch Party is built natively to Prime Video’s desktop interface. The feature allows you to watch content together with up to 100 people (with a Prime Membership).
The best part about Watch Party is that is syncs video playback for everyone, so everyone’s on the same page.
The feature isn’t just restricted to Prime Video Originals like Upload, Truth Seekers but it works with all of Prime Video’s SVOD (streaming on demand) titles.
To start a Watch Party, find a show or movie you want to watch, enter your name and then click Create your Watch Party. You’ll then be given a link to share with your friend or family.
Once you start the Watch Party, you can start talking using the built-in chat function. The host of the group can play, pause and fast-forward/rewind for the group.
The Watch Party feature for Prime Video is now available to all users in Canada.
