Sources tell Reuters that Samsung’s Galaxy Note lineup is rumoured to get the axe next year.
When the Galaxy Note series was first introduced, it kickstarted the phablet trend for smartphones. In recent years, the line has become more of a Galaxy S phone with a stylus.

One source tells Reuters that Samsung currently doesn’t have plans for a new Galaxy Note for 2021.
Another source has said that development efforts from the Note line will be merged into Samsung’s foldables.
One reason for the product line shakeup is sales, Tom Kang, an analyst at Counterpoint told Reuters that the Note series dropped by a fifth to 8 million units and the S series is just below 30 million.
“Premium demand has decreased this year and many people are not looking for new products,” says Kang.

The biggest selling feature of the Note series was the S Pen, which will soon be an optional accessory for the upcoming S21 Ultra and Samsung’s 2021 foldable phones.
Samsung’s recently leaked Galaxy S21 series is rumoured to be announced in January. Followed by their next foldable phones later in the year.
