With 2020 slowly wrapping up, the leaks for 2021’s smartphones are starting to pick up and first up is the S21 series.
These leaks come courtesy of Max Weinbach at Android Police. Just like in past years, there will be three models in the S21 series.
All three phones will be running the Snapdragon 875 processor (or Exynos 2100 chip in some markets). The S21 series will have Wi-Fi 6 support (but the Ultra will have Wi-FI 6E support as well) and running Android 11 with One UI 3.0.
The S21 comes with a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display at 120Hz, while the S21+ has a 6.7-inch screen at FHD+ and 120Hz refresh rate. That’s a step down from the S20 series which has WQHD+ on all models.
The S21 Ultra meanwhile will get a WQHD+ OLED display at a 120Hz refresh rate. For battery, the S21 has 4,000 mAh, S21+ with 4,800 mAh and S21 Ultra with a 5,000 mAh battery.
For cameras, the S21 and S21+ each have a 12MP Ultra-wide, 12MP main lens and 64MP telephoto. The S21 Ultra has a 12MP Ultra-wide, 108MP Gen 2 main lens, 10 MP 3X optical telephoto lens and 10MP with a 10X optical zoom lens.
Shooting in 8K video will make a return on the S21 series with a new option to shoot at 8K 30fps in addition to 8K 24fps.
The S21 will come in Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray, and Phantom White colours, while the S21+ comes in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Violet.
Meanwhile, the S21 Ultra will only be offered in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver.
Sources tell Android Police that the S21 Ultra will have S Pen support but won’t be included in the box. There will be cases that have an S Pen slot.
Current rumours are suggesting the S21 series will be announced and launched in January, instead of February/March.
We’ll learn more about the S21 Series in the coming months.
