OnePlus 8T officially announced

Following suit, OnePlus has unveiled its T series model for this year with the OnePlus 8T.

The phone features a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a120Hz refresh rate and a resolution fo 2400 x 1080. Compared to the OnePlus 8, which only offered a 90Hz display.

There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass, along with Wi-Fi 6 support.

“With the OnePlus 8T, we’re offering pro-level capabilities for even more users across our flagship smartphone portfolio,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “Featuring a class-leading 120Hz AMOLED display, our upgraded 65W fast charging technology and fresh, bold software in OxygenOS 11, the OnePlus 8T offers an impressive overall package of powerful hardware and smooth software.”

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 865 processor with 8 or 12GB of RAM (depending on market and storage) and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Just like the other OnePlus 8 series phones, the 8T offers 5G support thanks to the Snapdragon X55 5G modem.

In terms of battery life, there’s a 4,500 mAh battery inside, compared to the OnePlus 8’s 4,300 mAh battery, While the 8T doesn’t have wireless charging, it does support Warp Charge 65W Fast Charging, to get you a full charge in 39 mins.

The quad-camera setup on the back features a 48MP main lens, 16MP Ultra Wide, 5MP Macro and 2MP monochrome. The back cameras can shoot up to 4K video at 30/60 fps. Meanwhile, the front camera is 16MP and supports Face Unlock.

The OnePlus 8T is running the latest version of OxygenOS based on Android 11. The new update brings a number of features including, a new design, improved Dark Mode, Always On Display and ZenMode 2.0.

The OnePlus 8T will be available in two colours, Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.

The OnePlus 8T is launching on October 23rd with pre-orders starting today from OnePlus.com. The phone costs $1,099 CAD ($749 USD).

OnePlus Buds Z

The company also announced another pair of truly wireless earbuds with the OnePlus Buds Z. These earbuds offer, Bluetooth 5.0, 10mm dynamic drivers, Dolby Atmos support and 20 hours of battery life. There’s also IP55 water and dust resistance.

They’re available in White and a Steven Harrington Special Edition colourway.

The OnePlus Buds Z will be launching on November 2nd at 11AM ET for $69.99 CAD.
