Ubisoft Forward September 2020 Announcements: Immortals Fenyx Rising, Scott Pilgrim & more

Ubisoft made a couple of announcements at their second Ubisoft Forward event including, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and more.

Immortals Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising is the new title the game formerly known as Gods & Monsters.

According to Ubisoft, the game is about:

Immortals Fenyx Rising is an uplifting and witty take on the open-world action-adventure genre and is full of rewarding exploration through dynamic traversal. Sprint across open fields, climb enormous mountains and glide through the skies to discover all the secrets of the seven unique regions inspired by the Greek Gods across the Golden Isle.

The game was developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the studio behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is launching on December 3rd, 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, Switch, PS4, PS5, PC and Stadia. A free playable demo will be available for all Stadia players ahead of launch.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition

Scott Pilgrim is back with the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition.

According to Ubisoft:

With its unique blend of style, humour and classic gameplay, players will help Scott Pilgrim take on enemies, including the League of Seven Evil Exes to fight for love. To do so, players can embody Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills and more unforgettable characters, all featuring their own unique signature moves and attacks. By earning experience points, characters can level up and learn numerous deadly skills.

The re-release of the game includes the original game, original DLC, minigames, dodgeball and PVP battles.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition launches on January 14th, 2021 for Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and Stadia.

If you haven’t watched the film it’s based on, I highly recommend it and it’s on Netflix Canada 😉

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is a full-scale remake of the original game from 2003.

According to Ubisoft:

Relive the Prince’s journey for redemption after unwittingly releasing the Sands of Time on the Sultan’s Kingdom. As with the original, players will embody the heroic Prince alongside the daughter of the Maharaja, Princess Farah, as they navigate the palace, battle sword-wielding enemies, maneuver trap-filled rooms and ultimately confront the evil Vizier, who controls the Sands of Time. Players continue to progress as they combat enemies and master the art of parkour. Yuri Lowenthal returns, reprising his role as the Prince’s original voice and motion capture actor and players will be introduced to actress Supinder Wraich, who now plays the role of Farah.

The game is launching on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on March 18, 2021. The remake will be playable on Xbox Series X & S and PS5 via backwards compatibility.

Riders Republic

Riders Republic is sort-of a successor to Ubisoft’s snowboard/skiing game, Steep.

According to Ubisoft:

Live out the rider’s fantasy as you roam free in a huge, vibrant open world, always buzzing with other players around you. Immerse yourself in iconic American national parks including Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley, Mammoth Mountain… all mashed up for you to shred! Squad up with your friends and compete in a wide range of multiplayer modes: feel the rush of downhill races, dominate maps in team vs team competitions, or give it your best shot in epic mass PvP races with more than 50 other players. 

The game is launching on February 25th, 2021 for Xbox Series X & S, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, PS4 and PS5.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Ubisoft also announced that Award-winning British musician Stormzy will be in Watch Dogs: Legion.

“We are thrilled for Stormzy to be a part of Watch Dogs: Legion. His music and what he speaks to as an artist is extremely relevant for our London setting, and for the larger themes of our game,” commented Clint Hocking, Creative Director at Ubisoft Toronto. He added, “It’s been almost a year since we had Stormzy in the studio to film his performance. He lit up the room, and captivated us all. He’s a great collaborator, and it was a career highlight for us to get to work with him.”

According to Ubisoft:

In-game, Stormzy will appear in the mission “Fall On My Enemies,” in which players will have to help him secure a broadcast of his track in Central London.

In terms of post-launch for Watch Dogs: Legion, Watch Dogs 1 protagonist, Aiden Pierce will be playable in the game with a dedicated story arc as part of a DLC pack.

Watch Dogs: Legion launches on October 29th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, Stadia and PC (via Epic Games Store and Uplay). The game will launch on Xbox Series X & S (on November 10th) and PS5 upon its launch.

Update – December 8th, 2020: Ubisoft has announced a release date for Scott Pilgrim and that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed to March 2021. This article has been updated to reflect those changes.
