CD Projekt Red has announced that a next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently in development.
The next-gen edition will be able to take full advantage of the Xbox Series X and PS5 with a range of visual and technical improvements.
Some of the improvements include ray tracing support and faster load times for the base game, both expansions and all the extra content released for The Witcher 3.
The next-gen version of the game will be available as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series and PS5. For those that own the base game or Complete Edition/Game of the Year Edition on Xbox One, PS4 or PC will get the next-gen version at no extra cost.
The company hasn’t announced when the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 will launch.
The game will most likely release in 2021 at the earliest, since CDPR is in the midst of finishing Cyberpunk 2077, which is on track for a November 19th, 2020 release.
