Fitbit has announced two new smartwatches with the Versa 3 and Sense.
“Our mission to make everyone in the world healthier has never been more important than it is today. COVID-19 has shown us all how critical it is to take care of both our physical and mental health and wellbeing,” said James Park, co-founder and CEO, Fitbit. “Our new products and services are our most innovative yet, coupling our most advanced sensor technology and algorithms to unlock more information about our bodies and our health so you can be in control. We are breaking new ground with our wearables, helping you better understand and manage your stress and heart health, and pulling your key health metrics together in a simple and digestible way to track things like skin temperature, heart rate variability, and SpO2 so you can see how it’s all connected. Most importantly, we are making health accessible, surfacing new data that you may only get once or twice a year at the doctor’s office that you can use to focus on your holistic health and wellness, at a time when it’s needed most.”
Fitbit Sense
The Sense is the newest of the of Fitbit’s wearables. It uses more premium materials like stainless steel, satin finish band and a new infinity band.
The watch has an EDA Scan app that measures electrodermal activity to scan for stress levels. The Sense also features an ECG app to check for signs of atrial fibrillation and give you a heart rhythm assessment.
Just like past watches, the Sense has a heart rate monitor with PurePulse 2.0 and 24/7 continuous heart rate tracking. You’ll also be able to get calls, text and app notifications from your phone.
You can now talk to the Google Assistant on the Sense, in addition to Amazon Alexa. There’s also lots of exercise mode tracking, swim-proof, sleep tracking and more.
In terms of battery, you can get up to 6 days on a charge and there’s fast-charging support to get you a day of battery life in just 12 minutes.
The Fitbit Sense comes in Carbon/Graphite Stainless Steel or Lunar White/Soft Gold Stainless Steel and costs $429.95 CAD ($329 USD) when it ships on September 25th.
