It’s been a couple of months since Samsung introduced its Galaxy Z Flip. Now they’re introducing a 5G version of their foldable.
“At Samsung, we are committed to putting the power of 5G in the hands of Canadian consumers,” said Jennifer Safruk, VP, Mobile Business, Samsung Electronics Canada. “We are excited to bring next-generation speed and connectivity to the bold and stylish Galaxy Z Flip, expanding our portfolio of 5G devices and empowering consumers to stay connected.”
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G retains the same clamshell design as the original with a 6.7-inch Infinity Flex Display when unfolded that is made from ultra-thin glass.
When closed, there is a 1.1-inch Super AMOLED Cover Display to see notifications.
Flex Mode on the Galaxy Z Flip allows users to split the screen in half and use two apps at once such as the camera app, Google Duo and soon YouTube.
Powering the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The battery in the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is 3,300 mAh and supports 15W fast charging.
The phone comes in two new colours, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Grey.
For cameras, there is a 12MP Ultra Wide lens and 12MP Wide-angle lens along with a 10MP selfie camera.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is set to launch on August 7th for $2,019 CAD, which is $200 more than the original Galaxy Z Flip.
