After numerous delays and leaks, Google’s Pixel 4a has finally arrived.
Pixel 4a
The Pixel 4a comes with a 5.8-inch with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone from plastic to help keep the costs down.
While the Pixel 3a/3a XL was available in a few colours, the Pixel 4a only comes in Just Black and a hint of colour with a mint power button. The back of the phone has a fingerprint sensor.
Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor with 6GB of RAM and the Titan M security module. There’s also a 3,140 mAh battery along with 128GB of storage.
The standout feature of Pixel phones is the camera, the Pixel 4a has a 12.2MP rear-facing camera that is the same one featured in the Pixel 4/4 XL.
You get access to camera features like HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography with the Pixel 4a.
The 4a gets access to software features like the new Google Assistant, Recorder app, Live Caption and the Personal Safety app.
The phone will be available from the following retailers and carriers in Canada:
- Bell
- Rogers
- Telus
- Freedom Mobile
- Videotron
- Best Buy
The Pixel 4a will cost $479 CAD and is launching on September 10th in Canada. It’s available for pre-order today from the Google Store.
Google is offering up to $180 on trade-ins towards the Pixel 4a.
Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5
In addition to the Pixel 4a, Google also teased two more phones with the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5.
Google hasn’t revealed a lot about the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 other than the 4a (5G) will start at $679 CAD and arrive this fall.
The Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 will be coming to Canada, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia.
