Everyone’s favourite marsupial, Crash is back in an all-new game, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
It’s About Time is the first original Crash Bandicoot game in more than 10 years. The last original Crash game was Crash: Mind over Mutant back in 2008.
“Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time stands on the shoulders of the core precision gameplay we all fell in love within the ‘90s,” said Paul Yan, Co-Studio Head at Toys for Bob. “This epic new adventure spans space and time, introducing new ways to platform that both long-time fans and new players alike will enjoy mastering. Get ready to fall in love with the mutant marsupials all over again!”
The game’s story is a direct sequel Crash Bandicoot: Warped, which was part of 2017’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
According to Activision, here’s what the game is about:
Join Crash, Coco and friends across time and space to stop Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and other nefarious forces from not only taking over the world but the entire multiverse.
Throughout the game, you’ll find four Quantum Masks that will allow you to bend the rules of reality and gain advanced ways to conquer dangerous obstacles.
“Our teams have delivered two awesome remastered Crash Bandicoot experiences and the community passion for the series continues to be incredible. Now it is time to turn the page and give players something entirely new,” said Rob Kostich, President at Activision. “Loyal fans have been patiently waiting to see the journey continue for their favourite marsupial, and we’re giving players the completely new experience they deserve with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.”
The game is running on Unreal Engine 4 and being developed by Toys for Bob, the ones behind the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time launches on October 2nd for Xbox One, PS4 with enhancements for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. The game has been confirmed that the Xbox One version will be playable on Xbox Series X, as indicated on the box art.
Pre-orders for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time are available now for $79.99 CAD ($59.99 USD).
