HP has announced three new gaming laptops under their OMEN and Pavilion lines.

OMEN 15 (2020)

The OMEN 15 has been updated to give it a more low-profile luxury look and feel along with the new OMEN diamond logo.

The aluminum finish palm rest has a hypergraphic to add a bit of gamer flair to it. The laptop is just 22.5mm thin which is 11% thinner than the previous OMEN 15.

The display on the laptop is 15.6-inches and comes in OLED, UHD 120Hz and FHD 300Hz options. There’s also Wi-Fi 6 support in the OMEN 15 and up to a 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM.
For ports the OMEN 15 has the following:
- 1 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port* (which can connect up to two 5K displays)
- SD Card reader
- 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signalling rate (HP Sleep and Charge)
- 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signalling rate
- Ethernet port
- AC smart pin
- Headphone/mic jack
- Mini DisplayPort
- HDMI 2.0a
*The USB-C port on the OMEN 15 is Thunderbolt 3 enabled on the Intel models, the AMD version does not have Thunderbolt 3.
Powering the OMEN 15 is either up to a 10th Gen i7 H-series processor or AMD Ryzen 7 H-series processors with up to an Nvidia RTX 2070 Super Max-Q.
The built-in Graphic switcher can help you switch between Hybrid and Discrete modes. The Hybrid mode is designed for productivity, media consumption and web browsing. The Discrete mode is for gaming, media creation and smoother overall experience.
The OMEN Tempest Cooling technology should help the OMEN 15 cool when gaming with 3-sided venting and 5-way airflow.
For the battery, the OMEN 15 has a 70.9Wh Li-ion battery with HP Fast Charge to get you 50% charging in 45 minutes. The AMD OMEN 15 can get around 12.5 hours of battery life using the Graphic Switcher.

The new OMEN 15 is set to launch later this month in the US and Canada (starting June 15th for both the Intel and AMD variants), with pricing starting at$ $999 USD. Canadian pricing to be confirmed.
Pavilion Gaming 16

HP has replaced the outgoing Pavilion Gaming 15 with the new Pavilion Gaming 16. The laptop retains a similar size but now with a 16-inch screen size at 1080p and 144Hz.

Powering the Pavilion Gaming 16 is the 10th Gen Intel chips (up to an i7) and up to an Nvidia GTX 2060 Max-Q. For storage, the laptop comes with up to a 1TB HDD and a 256GB SSD combo and 16GB of RAM.
For ports, the Pavilion Gaming 16 comes with the following:
- 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C 5Gbps signalling rate (DisplayPort 1.4)
- 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signalling rate (HP Sleep and Charge)
- 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signalling rate
- 1 RJ-45
- 1 Headphone/microphone combo
- 1 AC Smart pin
- HDMI 2.0
The battery is 52.5 Wh and the laptop’s touchpad has been enlarged for an improved experience.
The new Pavilion Gaming 16 is set to launch later this month in the US and Canada (starting July 1st) with pricing starting at $799 USD. Canadian pricing to be confirmed.
HP OMEN Accessories

In addition to the new laptops, HP showed off a couple of new OMEN accessories.
The OMEN Dyad Earbuds offer a 10mm Dynamic Driver and balance armature driver. The earbuds come with a flat cable design and connect over a 3.5mm aux. The Dyad earbuds are available now for $49 USD.

The HP X1000 is the company’s first wireless gaming headset. The X1000 offers 7.1 virtual surround sound, OMEN Audio Lab integration and up to 20 hours of battery life. The headset is set to launch in August for $99 USD.

The HP Gaming Speakers X1000 is a 2.1 speaker system with customizable RGB lighting and works with OMEN Command Center. The speakers are launching in August for $99 USD.

The HP X24c monitor is a 23.6-inch curved monitor that offers a 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium support. The X24c monitor is launching in October for $249 USD.

The OMEN Vector and Vector Essential are HP’s latest mouse offerings. The Vector Essential has an OMEN Radar 1 Sensor for 97% accuracy tracking and 7200 dpi and 220 IPS tracking speed.
The Vector uses the OMEN Rader 3 Sensor to offer 99% accuracy tracking, 16. The OMEN Vector mouse launches later this month for $49 USD while the OMEN Vector Essential ships in July for $29 USD.
