Disney has announced that Pixar’s latest film, Onward is arriving on digital early.
According to Disney, the film is Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.
The film initially released in theatres on March 6th but due to the current global health situation we’re in, with theatres being closed, Onward has grossed $103.7 million amongst a budget of $175-200 million.
“While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” said Dan Scanlon (Director, Onward) and Kori Rae (Producer, Onward).
Onward will be available to purchase at 8:00PM EST/ 5:00PM PST on digital platforms such as iTunes, Google Play and more for $24.99 CAD.
The film will be coming to Disney+ in the US and Canada on April 3rd.
Update – March 31st, 2020: Disney Canada has announced that Onward will be launching on Disney+ on April 3rd alongside the US. The film is available now for purchase on digital storefronts.
