Google adds support for Stadia for the Galaxy S20 series and more

Since it’s initial launch back in November, Google’s Stadia service has been only available to Pixel phones. Now the company is adding support for 18 new phones including the latest Galaxy S20 series.

Starting on February 20th, these devices will be supported by Stadia:

You’ll still need a Wi-Fi connection to use Stadia because the service doesn’t work on cellular yet. And to use the Stadia controller with your phone, you’ll need to connect it via a USB-C cable.

However, you can use third-party accessories with Stadia which mostly uses Bluetooth.

You will also need a Stadia Founder’s Edition, Stadia Premiere Edition or a Stadia Buddy Pass to use on your newly compatible device as Stadia Base (the free tier) has not launched yet.

The Stadia Premiere Edition is available from the Google Store for $169 CAD and includes a white Stadia Controller, Chromecast Ultra and three months of Stadia Pro. Addition Stadia controllers are $89 CAD.
