Phones can be expensive these days and it’s a good idea to invest in a case or even a screen protector.

There are also some great accessories that work well for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.

Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL Cases & Screen Protectors

Bellroy Leather Case for Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL

Australian-based Bellroy has been making some of the best leather cases and alongside the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, they made their leather case even thinner. It uses a flex polymer for protection and keeps the buttons exposed.

The leather case for both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL comes in a number of colours including Navy, Black, Carmel, Not Pink and Coral.

The Leather Case for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are available now for $49 CAD and $55 CAD respectively from the company’s website.

Nomad Rugged Case

Just like Bellroy, Nomad has been making leather cases for a while now and they’ve introduced a new version of their case for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. The Rugged Case uses a polycarbonate body with a TPE raised bumper and genuine Horween leather.

The Horween leather used on the case will actually develop a patina over time to feel more unique to you. It also has 6ft drop protection and is fairly thin overall.

The case comes in black or brown colour options and costs $49.95 USD for both models.

Speck

Speck Presidio Stay Clear

Speck offers a few cases for the Pixel 4 & 4 XL with their Presidio Grip, Presidio Pro and Presidio Stay Clear.

The Presidio Grip case has a rubberized exterior texture that is thinner than other hardshell cases and comes in Black, Marble Grey, Skyline Blue, Coastal Blue and Desert Rose Pink for the Pixel 4 model. The Pixel 4 XL version comes in the same colours but the Rose Pink.

The Presidio Pro is Speck’s newest case with micro ban antimicrobial protection, 10 ft drop protection and soft-touch matte finish. The case goes for $39.95 USD for both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL versions.

Speck Presidio Pro

The Presidio Grip and Presidio Stay Clear for Pixel 4 cost $39.95 USD while the Pixel 4 XL version costs $44.95 USD from Speck’s website.

Moment Photo Case

For those wanting something a bit different and some added functionality, the Pixel Photo Case from Moment offers a way to improve your phone’s camera.

The Pixel Photo case is thin and durable that can protect your phone from drops. Near the camera hole of the case are Moment’s mount interface that let you twist and lock one of the company’s lenses.

Moment offers a number of different lenses that can be attached to your phone via the case such as:

  • Fisheye 14mm lens ($119 USD)
  • Wide 18mm Lens ($119 USD)
  • Anamorphic Lens ($149 USD)

For those unsure of which lenses to buy, Moment offers a helpful article on their site that shows you examples of photos taken using their lenses. The other option would be to go with one of their starter sets which comes with a phone case, one or two lenses and a lens cleaning tool.

The Pixel Photo Case comes in Walnut Wood and Black Canvas and costs $39.99 USD for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL versions. They also offer cases for past Pixel phones along with the latest iPhones and some OnePlus phones.

Gear4

(L-R) Gear4 Crystal Palace, Picadilly and Battersea

Zagg’s Gear4 has a few cases to offer for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL with their Battersea, Crystal Palace and Picadilly cases.

The Battersea case uses D3O protection which should protect it from drops up to 16ft in height. The back and inside of the case has a swirling textured design that makes it stand out. It costs $49.99 USD for both models.

The Piccadilly case is a clear case that is drop resistant up to 13ft, uses D3O protection and anti-fingerprint. It costs $39.99 USD for either model and comes in two border colour options.

The Crystal Palace case is another clear case offered by Gear4 but comes with anti-yellowing, D3O approved material and can handle a 13ft drop. It costs $39.99 USD for both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL models.

Google Official Cases

In terms of an official case from Google, the company is offering an updated version of their Fabric case

If you’re interested in an official case for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, the company offers their fabric case.

It has a knit exterior with a microfibre lining to help keep your phone protected. The case comes in Sorta Smoky, Just Black, Blue-ish and Could Be Coral. It costs $50 CAD for both versions of the Fabric Case.

InvisibleShield Glass+ VisionGuard for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL

Beyond getting a case, you’ll want to also make sure your phone’s screen is protected too. Zagg now offers a few versions of their glass screen protectors with the Glass Elite VisionGuard and Glass Elite VisionGuard+.

Both come with a Blue Light Filter but the plus model offer anti-microbial technology and anti-fingerprint technology. The Glass Elite VisionGuard costs $44.99 USD for either phone and the Glass Elite VisionGuard+ goes for $49.99 USD.

Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL Chargers

In addition to keeping your Pixel 4/ 4 XL protected with a case, there are a number of accessories that work well with the device.

Soundcore Wakey

Anker’s audio-focused Soundcore brand introduced a new device last year that’s not only a Qi wireless charger but is also a speaker and alarm clock.

It can charge devices wirelessly at up to 10W and has 2.5W speakers that sound good and can get fairly loud. The 200 LEDs in the Wakey can be adjusted automatically or using the Soundcore app.

The front of the clock has a fabric design along with a few touch-sensitive buttons, one for FM radio, volume up and down, Bluetooth mode, alarms and more. There’s also Bluetooth 50 and the back of the device has two USB Type-A ports as well as an Aux-input.

The Soundcore app allows you to control different aspects of the device from alarms and LED brightness levels to turn on the different white noise sounds.

The Soundcore Wakey is available now from the company’s website and Amazon.ca for around $129 USD ($89 USD) but it can usually be found on sale for as low as $89 CAD.

Mophie Powerstation Hub

The Powerstation Hub is a great on-the-go solution that is perfect for travelling, combines a wireless charger, battery pack and a wall adapter all into one.

It has a built-in 6,100 mAh battery, a USB-C port with Power Delivery as well as two USB Type-A ports to charge even more devices. As mentioned earlier, you can also use the device to wirelessly charge your phone via the Qi charging pad.

The side of the device has indicator lights that shows you the battery level. The Mophie Powerstation Hub is available now from the company’s website for around $99 USD but for as low as $85 CAD.

Headphones for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL

Like most smartphones, these days, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL no longer have an audio jack to plug in your headphones. While you can use a dongle like the official Google USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter, there are a couple of wireless headphones that work great with the phones.

Jabra Elite 75t

The Elite 75t is the company’s update to their Elite 65t wireless earbuds. There is a 20% smaller design but battery life has been extended to up to 7.5 hours with an additional 28 hours via the charging case.

Speaking of the charging case, the Elite 75t’s case has a USB-C port with fast charging support. A version of the Elite 75t with a wireless charging case will be available later this year.

Jabra Launches Elite 75t – Fourth Generation True Wireless Earbuds

The Elite 75t earbuds are IP55 water and dust resistant and come with a 4-microphone array. The microphones also help with noise cancelling which is passive on the 75t and not active noise cancellation.

Unlike other wireless earbuds, the Elite 75t uses buttons instead of touchpads for controls on the earbuds themselves.

Still, the Elite 75t does a great job to filter out noise from the outside world and makes it easier to focus on your music or podcast. There’s also a HearThrough option to be able to listen to your surroundings.

The sound of the Elite 75t can be controlled via the Jabra Sound+ app on both Android and iOS.

The Jabra Elite 75t comes in Gold Beige, Titanium Black and Black (exclusive to Best Buy) for $239 CAD

Sony WH-XB900N Headphones

Sony makes some great headphones, especially with their WH-1000XM3 headphones. But in 2019, the company launched a cheaper alternative to their flagship headphones with the WH-XB900N

The headphones don’t have the same premium look and feel as the WH-1000XM3 but they still look great. They come with Sony’s Extra Bass technology that helps enhance low-end frequencies.

The WH-XB900N offers noise cancellation technology that can filter out noise around you for a better audio experience.

The right earcup on the WH-XB900N has a touchpad that allows you to play/pause, skip tracks and control volume. When you place your hand over the right earcup, it will activate Quick Attention mode (from the WH-1000XM3) that turns down the volume and deactivates noise cancellation temporarily.

The custom button on the left ear cup can be used to set different levels of noise cancellation or activate the Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

The ear cushions on the headphones are very plush and help when using the headphones for long periods of time.

Battery life on the WH-XB900N is around 30 hours with a USB-C port with quick charging that gets you 90 minutes of playback time in just 10 minutes.

One thing to note is that the headphones come with a soft carrying case which is nice to have but won’t protect the headphones that much. I would recommend buying a hard case for the headphones such as this one.

The Sony WH-XB900N wireless headphones cost around $349 CAD ($249 USD) which is cheaper than their WH-1000XM3 headphones that go for $449 CAD

Sony WF-1000XM3

For those wanting more premium wireless earbuds that rival the Apple AirPods Pro, the Sony WF-1000XM3 is a great option.

The earbuds are much larger than the Jabra Elite 75t mentioned previously and come with Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling QN1e processor. The processor has Dual Noise Sensor technology that can catch and cancel out the noise to put a bigger emphasis on your music.

The WF-1000XM3 comes with up to 6 hours of listening time with Noise Cancelling on and 8 hours with it off. The charging cases have USB-C and offer up to 24 hours of additional listening time.

Just like the WH-XB900N headphones, the WF-1000XM3 has a Quick Attention mode that lets you turn down the volume and turn off noise cancelling temporarily.

The Sony WF-1000XM3 wireless earbuds are available now for around $299 CAD ($229 USD).
