Cadillac’s largest SUV is getting an upgrade in a big way thanks to a 38-inch curved OLED display for the 2021 model year.
“From the highway to the big screen, the Escalade has been embraced by drivers and fans around the world,” said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president. “We’re excited to introduce the 2021 Escalade during Oscars week in February.”
The company says that the gigantic screen in the 2021 Escalade will feature twice the pixel density (aka PPI) of a 4K TV, which should help provide bold imagery, perfect blacks and the largest colour range available on a vehicle screen.
The new display stretches from the driver’s side behind the steering wheel to the centre of the dash.
Cadillac also says that they’ve sold around 30,000 Escalades globally in the third quarter of 2019.
The 2021 Escalade is said to come equipped with the company’s Super Cruise technology. Super Cruise uses a combination of LiDaAR map data, high-precision GPS, state-of-the-art driver attention system and a network of camera and radar sensors.
The 2021 Escalade will be officially announced on February 4th, 2020 in Los Angeles.
The vehicle will officially launch in late 2020.
