Samsung Galaxy Fold now available in Canada

Samsung Canada has announced that its foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold will be coming to Canada after all.

Even though the Galaxy Fold launched in the US and other select markets back in September, Canada was left out of the launch plan. At the time, Samsung Canada gave the following statement:

Given that the Galaxy Fold will be available in limited quantities across the globe and taking into consideration the improvements made, we had to revisit the global launch plan. While we greatly appreciate consumers’ interest in Galaxy Fold, unfortunately, the Galaxy Fold will not be available in Canada.

But it turns out that plans change and now the Galaxy Fold will be coming to Canada exclusively at Samsung Experience Stores.

“Canadians’ have overwhelmingly shared their excitement for the Galaxy Fold, and we’re thrilled to now be offering it at our Samsung Experiences Stores across Canada,” said Jennifer Safruk, VP Sales and Product Management in a statement.

The Galaxy Fold comes with a foldable 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display. There’s a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Display dubbed the Cover display.

For cameras, there is an 8MP RGB Depth Camera for Cover Display, 12MP Telephoto, 16MP Ultra Wide and 12MP Wide-angle. There’s also which dual 10MP Selfie Cameras.

Powering the Galaxy Fold is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. There’s also a 4,380 mAh battery with Fast Charging and Wireless Powershare.

It will only be available in the Cosmos Black colour option in Canada.

Each Galaxy Fold purchase comes with the Galaxy Fold Premier Services including Fold Concierge and a screen replacement offer (of $199 CAD). Specially trained experts are available 24/7 at 1-888-970-FOLD.

The Galaxy Fold will cost $2,599 CAD and be available starting December 6th at Samsung Experience Stores across Canada.

Update – December 6th, 2019: Samsung Canada has announced that the Galaxy Fold is now available for purchase and pick-up in Canada. You can only get the device in-store at the following Samsung stores:

Galaxy Fold orders are now available for in-store pickup.
