Now that fall is in full gear, OnePlus has officially taken the wraps off their latest smartphone with the OnePlus 7T.
The new OnePlus 7T offers the same 90Hz Fluid AMOLED display that was featured on the OnePlus 7 Pro. The screen is 6.55-inches and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixel with a 402 PPI.
The display is also HDR10+ certified and a brightness of 1,000 nits.
“OnePlus always strives to deliver the best technology and ‘fast and smooth’ experience possible to its users,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “The OnePlus 7T is a combination of style and substance, with industry-leading technology including the super smooth 90 Hz display, and new triple-camera set-up, and an unmatched user experience.”
Powering the OnePlus 7T is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor (the same chip featured in the Asus ROG Phone II) with 8GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. There’s also 128GB of UFS 3.0 storage with no option for expandable storage.
For the main camera, the OnePlus 7T uses a 48-megapixel Sony sensor along with a 12-megapixel Telephoto lens and a 16-megapixel Ultra Wide Angle Lens. To put that into perspective, the OnePlus 7 Pro has an 8-megapixel telephoto lens but the same ultra-wide and main sensor.
OnePlus has also added a new Macro Mode to let you get super close to your subject.
The phone does have a notch but it’s in the shape of a teardrop like the OnePlus 6T. The notch houses the 16-megapixel front-facing camera which can be used for Face Unlock.
The OnePlus 7T is the first phone to come with Android 10 out of the box and it’s running the company’s OxygenOS that lets you customize it.
The battery in the OnePlus 7T is 3,800 mAh which is a slight downgrade from the OnePlus 7 Pro. You do get OnePlus’ Warp Charge 30T Fast Charging that gets you 70% battery life in just 30 minutes.
For colour options, the OnePlus 7T is offered Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver with a matte finish on the back.
The OnePlus 7T will launch on October 18th for $799 CAD ($599 USD) and be available for purchase from the company’s website.
