Signify’s Philips Hue brand has a couple of new products for IFA 2019 including new Filament bulbs, a Smart Plug and more.
Hue Filament Bulb
The new Hue Filament bulb is a new take on an old design. More specifically the Edison-style bulb but for the modern-day.
The new bulbs have amber-coated smart filament bulbs and come in three shapes (depending on region).
The A19 version of the Hue Filament Bulb will cost $29 CAD, the G25 version for other global markets will cost $39 CAD and the ST19 Edison style will cost $34.99 CAD.
Hue Go (2019)
The Hue Go has been updated for 2019 and now adds longer battery life and Bluetooth capability (so you won’t need a bridge).
The new Hue Go allows you to bring your portable smart light wherever. It is set to launch in early October for $99 CAD.
Hue GU10 & E12 Bulbs
The company has also updated its GU10 spotlights, now with a colour ambiance option. The E12 candle bulbs have also been given an update and now come in White.
The GU10 spots and Hue White Candle will arrive in early October. Pricing is as follows:
- Hue White GU10 2 pack – $39.99 CAD
- Hue White Ambiance GU10 2 pack – $59.99 CAD
- Hue White and Colour GU10 (Single Pack) – $59.99 CAD
- Hue White Candle 2 Pack – $39.99 CAD
New Hue Accessories
In addition to the new Hue Bulbs, the company announced two new accessories, the Hue Smart Plug and Hue Smart Button.
The Hue Smart Plug allows you to connect any lamp to your existing Hue setup, even if the lamp doesn’t have a smart bulb (or uses a special bulb not compatible with Hue).
The Hue Smart Plug will launch in late October for $35.99 CAD.
The new Hue Smart Button allows you to control your smart lights with just one touch and customize it to your liking. The button has a magnetic base and will be exclusive to Amazon Canada when it launches in mid-November for $24.99 CAD.
