At IFA 2019 in Berlin, Western Digital has updated their WD My Passport hard drives to 2019.

The design of the new My Passport is similar to the company’s My Passport Ultra.

Both the new My Passport and My Passport for Mac comes with password protection and 256-bit AES Hardware Encryption (via WD Security) and up to 5TB in capacity.

WD My Passport for Mac 2019

The Windows version of the My Passport has a USB 3.0 connector that works with USB 2.0 ports. While the My Passport for Mac is formatted for macOS and uses a USB-C connector with USB-C to USB-A.

The new My Passport comes in multiple colours and capacities:

  • 1 TB (Only available in Black)
  • 2 TB (Available in Black, Red and Blue)
  • 4 TB (Available in Black, Red and Blue)
  • 5 TB (Only available in Black)

The new 5 TB My Passport is the company’s slimmest portable hard drives coming in at 0.75 (19.15mm) thick.

WD My Passport for Mac 2019

The new My Passport for Mac only comes in Midnight Blue and offered in 2, 4 and 5 TB capacities.

The new My Passport and My Passport for Mac are available now from $79 USD (for the Windows version) and $89 USD (for the Mac version).

Back at Gamescom 2019, Western Digital launched its new WD_Black lineup of gaming products.

The WD_Black portfolio includes the P10 Game Drive which is an HDD that comes in up to 5TB of capacities (about 125 games) and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port.

The WD_Black P50 Game Drive is an SSD with USB 3.2 gen 2×2 port for speeds of up to 2000MB/s and 2TB capacity.

The WD_Black D10 Game Drive is offered in up to 8TB and uses a 7200RPM HDD with speeds of up to 250MB/s.

There are also Xbox One versions of the WD_Black P10 Game Drive with up to 5TB capacity and two-months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The other is the WD_Black D10 Game Drive for Xbox One that has to 12TB of storage, 250MB/s speeds and a 7200RPM HDD with active cooling technology.

SanDisk

Western Digital’s SanDisk has introduced the iXpand Wireless Charger.

The SanDisk iXpand Wireless Charger offers up to 10W of wireless charging speeds but also comes with built-in storage to back up photos on your Android phone or iPhone.

It comes in 64, 128 and 256GB capacities. Pricing for the iXpand Wireless Charger is to be confirmed closer to launch.

SanDisk is also rolling out an updated version of their iXpand Flash Drive Go for iOS. It allows you to free up space on your iPhone with 128 and 256GB storage options.

The 128GB iXpand Flash Drive Go costs $59 USD and the 256GB version costs $89 USD.

SanDisk has also launched its Extreme PRO SD UHS-I memory card which is the world’s fastest 1TB UHS-I SD Card.

The card support V30 Video Speed Class, USH Speed Class 3, rated Class 10 and has up to 170MB/s read speeds and up to 90MB/s write speeds.

The 1TB Extreme Pro SD Card will set you back $499 USD while the 512GB costs $189 USD, 256GB of $74.99 USD, 128GB for $39 USD and 64GB for $20 USD.
