Pixar’s latest entry in the Toy Story series, Toy Story 4 has passed the $1 billion mark.
Toy Story 4 is now Disney’s fifth 2019 film to hit $1 billion, joining the likes of Avengers: Endgame (which is the highest-grossing film of all time), Captain Marvel, Aladdin and The Lion King.
This new helped Disney beat their previous record of four movies hitting $1 billion in a single year back in 2016, which included Captain America: Civil War, Finding Dory, Zootopia and The Jungle Book.
This makes Toy Story 4 the 8th highest-grossing animated film of all time. Toy Story 4 joins Pixar’s Incredibles 2, Finding Dory and Toy Story 3 to cross the billion-dollar mark.
When it released in June, Toy Story 4 earned $120.9 million in its domestic debut and about $421.8 million domestically.
The film earned $579.9 million internationally more global releases to come in Germany and parts of Europe. Toy Story 4 currently sits as #2 in the UK as the highest-grossing animated release of all time.
Meanwhile, in Japan, Toy Story 4 has grossed over $77 million and another $72 million in Mexico.
Disney still has a few more films releases to go including, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, of which they could easily hit $1 billion or more
