Snap Spectacles 3 have a new design and dual cameras

Snap Inc has announced a new version of their wearable with Spectacles 3. 

The design of Spectacles 3 has been updated for feature a strong, lightweight steel frame with circular lenses. There’s also a 4-microphone array to record high-fidelity audio when recording HD video.

Like previous models, the button on the top of the Spectacles allow you to take video (up to 60 seconds continuously) or press and hold the button for a photo. The front of the glasses have LED indicator lights to notify people around you that you’re recording.

The addition of the second camera on the Spectacles 3 allows you to capture Snaps in 3D (and also add depth) and then transform them in the Snapchat app to add 3D Effects and more.

Spectacles 3 work with both Android and iOS and integrate directly via the Snapchat app.

Snap says that Spectacles 3 will be a limited edition product and they’ll only be making a fraction of the total number of Spectacles 1 they’ve sold since April which was more than 200K.

Spectacles 3 are set to arrive this fall and come in two colours, Carbon and Mineral for $500 CAD ($380 USD). The glasses comes with a Leather Charging Case that holds up to four charges, folds up when not in use and charges over USB-C

The Snap Spectacles 3 will launch this fall and are available for pre-order now from the company’s website. Spectacles 3 will be available in Canada, US, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, France, Spain and Italy.

If you’re not interested in the Spectacles 3, the Spectacles 2 are still available for $270 CAD ($200 USD) for the Nico & Veronica styles or $200 CAD ($150 USD) for the Original style.
