Disney has announced an opening date that the second attraction for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is set to open on December 5th (which also happens to be Walt Disney’s birthday) at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World.
Then on January 17th, 2020, the Disneyland version of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open.
According to Disney, the Rise of the Resistance ride “will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.”
The company says that the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is “the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined.”
While Disneyland’s version of Galaxy’s Edge opened this past May, it did so with only one attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. The same will go for the Walt Disney World version of the land when it opens in August.
