Prime Video adds Chromecast and Android TV support

Back in April, Google and Amazon announced they were working together on adding Chromecast support to the Prime Video app and an official YouTube app for Fire TV.

Just a few months later and Chromecast support is now rolling out to the Prime Video app on Android and iOS.

To start casting your favourite Prime Video shows, just update the app and you’re good to go.

If you have an Android TV device, you can now download the Prime Video app and watch content there.

On the flip side, Amazon’s Fire TV devices including the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick Basic Edition, and Toshiba, Insignia, Element, and Westinghouse Fire TV Edition Smart TVs now have an official YouTube app.

The official YouTube app on Fire TV should automatically appear in the Your Apps and Channels section of the homescreen. The app supports playback up to 4K video at 60 fps and Alexa voice search.

Later this year, a YouTube TV (US Only) and a YouTube Kids apps will be available.
