Signify has a new lineup of Philips Hue smart bulbs that are even easier.
The bulbs are called Philips Hue with Bluetooth and as the name implies, the smart bulbs have Bluetooth built-in to easily connect to your Amazon Echo or Google Home without the need for a Hue Bridge.
“People often underestimate the power that lighting can have on the ambiance of a room. By adding Bluetooth to our Philips Hue smart lighting, we’re making it easy to experiment and have fun with light at home. All it requires is the smartphone you already have. We’re confident that once you start, you’ll want to keep exploring what else Hue can do, “Jasper Vervoort,
Business Leader Home Systems & Luminaires Philips Hue at Signify.
The Bluetooth-enabled Hue bulbs still have the same functionality as before with the ability to turn on/off, dim or brighten, use pre-set scenes and choose from millions of colours or shades of white.
You’ll also still be able to control your new Philips Hue Bulbs with Bluetooth using Amazon Alexa (on your Echo device) and soon on your Google Home and Google Nest devices.
The new bulbs currently work with the Echo Dot (3rd Gen), Echo Plus and Echo Show (2nd Gen) with more Echo devices compatibility this fall.
At any point, you can easily seamlessly upgrade to using Hue Bridge for even more functionality.
Philips Hue Bluetooth bulbs are available now in the US and in Canada on July 2nd.
