Google Stadia launching this November

Google has announced details about their upcoming game streaming service called Stadia.

Stadia uses Google’s cloud platform to stream games to your devices in up to 4K resolution at 60 fps with HDR (on a compatible device).

To get access to Stadia at launch, you’ll need to pre-order the Founder’s Edition bundle. It gets you a Limited-edition Night Blue Stadia controller, Chromecast Ultra, three-month Stadia Pro subscription, first dibs on a Stadia Name and one 3-month Buddy Pass to give Stadia Pro to a friend.

The Stadia Founder’s Edition bundle will cost $169 CAD ($129 USD) and is up for pre-order now.

The Stadia Pro subscription gets you 4K/60fps/HDR with 5.1 surround sound stream of games, exclusive discounts on games for purchase, some free games (which haven’t been specified yet), all the benefits in the Stadia Base plan and for a limited time, Destiny 2 with the base game and add-ons.

Stadia Pro will cost $11.99 CAD ($9.99 USD) per month.

Stadia Base (coming in 2020) gives you game streaming in up to 1080p/60fps with stereo sound, the ability to buy and keep the games you want and lets you play in a Chrome browser or on your Pixel 3, 3XL, 3a or 3a XL via the Stadia app.

You can use Stadia using Stadia controller that has built-in dual-band Wi-Fi to connect to the Stadia data centers, Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2 (BLE), 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, Google Assistant button and capture button.

The Stadia Controller comes in Just Black, Clearly White and Wasabi for $89 CAD ($69 USD) each.

  • Gods & Monsters

  • GYLT
  • Just Dance 2020

  • Marvel’s Avengers

Unannounced titles from Capcom, EA will also be coming to Stadia and more game announcements will be announced in the coming months.

In November, Stadia will launch in 14 countries including Canada, the US, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. More countries will come in 2020.
