In what seems like a strange turn of events, Apple has updated its iPod Touch (yes, really) since 2015.
The 7th Gen iPod Touch is now powered by the A10 Fusion chip, which also powers the 9.7-inch iPad (2018) and iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
“We’re making the most affordable iOS device even better with performance that is twice as fast as before, Group FaceTime and augmented reality starting at just $249 CAD,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing. “The ultra-thin and lightweight design of iPod touch has always made it ideal for enjoying games, music and so much more wherever you go.”
While the design hasn’t changed on the new iPod Touch, Apple is offering a new storage capacity of 256GB.
The 7th Gen iPod Touch also comes with iOS 12 which also brings augmented reality to the device for fun and productive experiences.
The new iPod Touch is available now and costs $249 CAD for the 32GB model, $369 CAD for the 128GB model and $489 CAD for the 256GB model. The device comes in multiple colours, Blue, Space Grey, Pink, Silver, Gold and (Product)Red.
