2019 Accessories Audio Augmented Reality (AR) Bose Headphones

Bose Frames are now available in Canada

Bose has announced that their first audio AR sunglasses/wearables, Frames are now available in Canada, Europe and parts of the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

The Frames lets users navigate the world, listen to music and take calls using the “world’s first audio-only augmented reality platform.”

“Frames are both magical and practical,” said Mehul Trivedi, director of Bose Frames. “With the new lens options, they’re more versatile premium sunglasses. But when you turn them on, they function like headphones, instantly connecting to your phone, contacts, the web, and all its audible content. Frames have taken the wearable category by storm since their U.S. release six months ago, and we’re really excited to bring their groundbreaking performance — and new accessories — to people all over the world.”

The Bose Frames are offered in two styles, Alto (square and angled) or Rondo (smaller and rounded), they should be able to block out 99% of UVA/UVA rays. They weigh about 45 grams and are shaped to fit and feel like other sunglasses.

You can get the Frames with a non-polarized lens or polarized lens in multiple colours such as Blue Gradient, Mirrored Silver and Mirrored Rose Gold. Best of all, you can pop-out the lens and swap them out at any point.

The right temple of the Frames has an ultra-small microphone and a multi-function button for power and for talking to the Google Assistant or Siri.

The Frames uses a 9-axis head motion sensor and GPS from your Android or iOS device to know where you are and what you’re facing without needing a lens or phone camera.

The glasses lasts about 3.5 hours on a single charge and 12 hours of standby time. Charging the Frames takes about two hours and they come with a cloth bag and protective case.

The Bose Frames are available in Canada for $249 CAD ($199 USD) from Bose’s website, and Additional lens will set you back $24.99 CAD to $39.99 CAD, depending on style and colour.

They’re available for purchase now from the US, Europe and Asia Pacific and will be coming to Italy on May 23rd, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark on May 31st.

With Australia on June 13th and India on June 20th. To use the Bose Frames with your smartphone, you’ll need the Bose Connect app.
