Sony has made a few announcements at MWC 2019, including the Xperia 1, Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus.
Xperia 1

The Xperia 1 has a massive 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio (dubbed CinemaWide). It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage plus a microSD card slot.

“We have established a new vision for our XperiaTM brand, which is to bring our customers experiences beyond imagination,” said Mitsuya Kishida, President of Sony Mobile Communications. “We are continuing to push the boundaries in pursuit of innovation, and our new Xperia 1 delivers genuine technological advancements with a multitude of professional-grade features for creative entertainment experiences that are only possible with Sony.”
It’s IP65/68 water and dust resistant with a fingerprint on the power button. The Xperia 1 features a triple lens camera system all at 12-megapixels but at different focal lengths, 16mm for wide shots, 26mm for normal shots and 52mm lens for telephoto.

The camera in the Xperia 1 has a 1.4μm Dual Photo Diode image sensor, which will help with better low-light photos. You can shoot 4K HDR video at 24fps in 21:9 format. There’s also optical and electronic image stabilization to help product shake free and smoother videos.
The Xperia 1 is running Android 9 Pie and also has a 3,330 mAh battery with Sony’s Smart Stamina and Battery Care features.
The Sony Xperia 1 will be available in Black, Purple, Gray and White and available in the Spring.
No Canadian pricing or availability has been announced.
Xperia 10 & 10 Plus

The Xperia 10 and 10 Plus are Sony’s latest mid-range offerings with Android 9 Pie. The Xperia 10 has a 6-inch Full HD+ Ultimate Wide display while the Xperia 10 Plus has a 6.5-inch display.

The Xperia 10 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with a 2,870 mAh battery and the Xperia 10 Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 636 and has a 3,300 mAh battery.

Both phones feature dual-cameras with a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel on the Xperia 10 and 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel on the Xperia 10 Plus. You can also shoot up to 4K video in the 21:9 aspect ratio on both phones.

The Xperia 10 will be available in Black, Silver, Navy and Pink and cost $349 USD. The Xperia 10 Plus will come in the same colours plus Gold and cost $429 USD.

Both phones are set to launch in the US on March 18th. No Canadian pricing or availability has been announced.
